My name is Paul G. Bens, Jr., and I am a writer based out of Los Angeles. My short fiction has appeared in The Egg Box, Outsider Ink, Scared Naked, HeavyGlow, Bleeding Quill, Twisted Tongue, Velvet Mafia: Dangerous Queer Fiction, Chick Flicks, Cemetery Dance and Dark Discoveries. A number of my flash fiction pieces have been included in the anthology HeavyGlow: Two Years Burning Brightly and my mini-collection of Hawai'i based fiction -- Talk Story: Three Tales of Hawai'i -- is available in e-book format through Smashwords as well as from major e-tailers.
My debut novel Kelland was released in the fall of 2009 and was awarded the 2009 Black Quill Award for Best Small Press Chill (Editors' Choice) and is available in print from Casperian Books and major retailers or in e-book format through Smashwords or major e-tailers.
As I have not been reviewing regularly for any sites lately, I decided to start this blog as a place to post my past reviews as well as any new reviews going forward. My literary tastes run the gamut from horror to literary fiction, with a particular interest in LGBT fiction.
I don't do reviews by request anymore, so what you are likely to find here are reviews of works I have chosen to read and either enjoyed or despised.
Feel free to pop by my website at http://www.paulbens.com/ where you'll find more info as well as a few reads. And pop by http://www.whoiskelland.com/to check out excerpts from Kelland.
Thanks for stopping by.
